A Television Program About Alcohol Dependency Signs Leads To Depressing Emotions About A Lady's Hazardous And Irresponsible Drinking

Sharon had been engaging in hazardous drinking behavior since her sophomore year in college. Now, eight years later, she drank more than ever. One Tuesday evening when she was feeling a little under the weather, Sharon decided to stay home, chill out, and watch TV. While hunting for a program to watch that would grab hold of her interest, she instantly became fascinated with a special program about adolescent and young adult drinking issues.

The narrator talked about the difference between alcohol abuse and alcohol dependency and then discussed the subject of alcoholic symptoms and alcoholic behavior. When the speaker went into detail about an individual's symptoms of withdrawal and some of the more widespread alcoholic symptoms and signs that alcohol addicted people manifest, Sharon got quite disturbed because it virtually seemed as if the speaker was talking specifically to her.

After watching the television special, Sharon promised herself that she would call her doctor the following morning and schedule an appointment to discuss her abusive and unhealthy drinking.

When the next business day arrived, true to her word, Sharon called her health care provider and scheduled an appointment. In the meantime, she went online and did a search for alcoholism symptoms. Especially noteworthy were the following symptoms or signs: making excuses to drink at virtually every opportunity, sneaking extra drinks before social events, increasing irritability, serious relationship and work-related problems, and sleep problems.

In short, due to the fact that Sharon displayed all of these signs she went deeper in her Internet search and found more than a few websites and blogs that discussed various alcoholism symptoms and warning signs. One of the signs that really grabbed her interest was the following: "Do you typically drink after stating to yourself that you won't?"

Another alcoholic sign that caught her attention was the following: "Have neighbors aggravated you by frowning upon your irresponsible and hazardous drinking?" A third alcohol dependency warning sign was the following: "Do you need a drink when you first get up in the morning?"

The final alcoholism warning sign that made her feel slightly apprehensive about her excessive drinking was the following: "Has your motivation shrunk since you started drinking more habitually?" When Sharon read this sign she clearly recognized that drinking had become a severe problem in her life because of her diminished energy level and also because she quit pursuing her goals and her dreams.

After thinking about all of these injurious alcoholic signs and symptoms, Sharon at first felt dejected. Then something exciting took place. She realized that she was going to see her physician about her excessive drinking and she also knew that she would talk about her alcoholic warning signs and symptoms.

In fact, for the first time in quite a few months, Sharon honestly felt a sense of optimism because she was confronting her excessive drinking and was at last ready to make the required modifications so that she could regain the life that was slipping away.
