Do You Need To Experience Extreme Adventure Travel

Does the term extreme adventure travel signify that the traveler must become an Indiana Jones and suffer steaming jungles, stifling hot deserts or furious seas? Does it mean risking life and limb in war zones or regions that have been venues for terrorist attacks? Does it involve crawling on your belly in the enclosed darkness of a cave, or dangling from a rope at a cliff-face many feet above a torrential river?

Certainly not, even though all of those things are usually the kind of adventures some people purposely pursue. To explain extreme adventure travel simply, it is really just whatever you wish it to be. It may include physical risk, but it does not need to be dangerous at all. It might result in a journey to a faraway and alluring place, but it doesn't have to be so. It might be very costly, but it doesn't have to be that way. If you travel somewhere, anywhere, and you have an experience that thrills you, offers you with a respite from the usual, and leaves you feeling happy, then you have experienced an adventure to be remembered.

Most people would agree that the type of extreme adventure travel that involves sky diving, mountain climbing, kayaking in white water rapids, or taking pictures of alligators in the Everglades would be exciting. But adventure travel can also refer to an idyllic trip on the Mississippi River in a paddle wheeler, a stroll across the English countryside in search of a certain type of bird, a visit to the vineyards of southern France, or a shell collecting quest on a remote Caribbean beach.

When you understand extreme adventure travel you will soon realize that it could take you to the other part of the globe, to the apex of a mountain, or to the wildest places on earth, or it could simply bring you to the inside of a little old church just around the corner, one that you've walked past plenty of times.
